Cardinal Route (2 of 31)
Cardinal was the highest peak of the trip at 8595 feet, dominating the east side of the North Fork basin.
To scramble Cardinal, we took the trail south about a mile, hiked up larch meadows to the base of the peak, scrambled up the wide rock-filled central gully, went east through the central notch, and then scrambled up southwest to the summit.
